The Alaska - Hawaii Connection - Swearing in by Skype - The best summer vacation and politics story comes from Hawaii and Alaska by way of Skype. Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan will begin his second term by taking his oath of office from 2,800 miles away in Hawaii. It's a vacation Sullivan takes every year with his family during the summer, and this year happened to fall on the day of his swearing-in. Whitt added that Sullivan's wife, Lynette, has family in Honolulu and has limited time to visit the island due to her schedule as a school teacher. http://abcn.ws/KPiCc1 (Maria Nikias)

Tax or Penalty - The Importance of Being Semantic - Eric Fehrnstrom's argument on MSNBC that mandate scofflaws pay a penalty and not a tax is the same one made by the president and senior administration officials. They all refuse to call the penalty a tax, despite the Supreme Court's ruling. On the other side - in the tax camp - is just about every other Republican. What's it matter? In the real world, not much. But in this case Romney has in the past signed the Norquist pledge and to call it a tax he'd be admitting he raised taxes. Obama pledged not to raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 http://abcn.ws/LLaxcu (Michael Falcone & Devin Dwyer)

Friends with Benefits: Pro-Obama SuperPac Running Almost 100% of Bain Ads - The study by CMAG found that over the last three and a half months, "fewer than one percent of all ad occurrences sponsored by the Obama campaign have mentioned Bain Capital by name". Instead, it is the SuperPAC run by two former White House staffers - Bill Burton and Sean Sweeney - that is doing almost all of the heavy lifting on the Bain attack. From April 10 through June 28, 2012, writes Kantar Media's CMAG, "100% of all ad occurrences sponsored by the Democratic super PAC Priorities USA Action have mentioned Bain Capital by name." http://abcn.ws/LLWL54 (Amy Walter)

California Democrat Boogies to 'Call Me Maybe' - It's the country's reigning No. 1 hit on the Hot 100 Billboard chart, and one U.S. lawmaker apparently likes it so much that she participated in a summer intern video project, dancing to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe." http://abcn.ws/KWrhhi (John Parkinson)

Obama T-Shirt Showdown Escalates from 'BFD' to 'BFTax' - It's a T-shirt-off! Republicans have taken the Obama campaign's "big f-ing deal" T-shirt and raised him a "big f-ing tax" shirt as both parties try to take control of the conversation after the Supreme Court's health care ruling. http://abcn.ws/M0csGK (Amy Bingham)
