Israeli PM Will Get Phone Call From Obama

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney has finally laid out the plans for bilateral meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will meet with him tonight in New York and President Obama will place a phone call to him, likely on Friday.

"The prime minister is there today and tomorrow I believe," Carney said. "The prime minster is meeting with Secretary of State Clinton later today, this evening. And I expect the president will have a follow up phone call with the prime minister, probably Friday."

The plan comes after weeks of accusations that President Obama was snubbing Netanyahu by not scheduling meetings with him while he was in the US for the United Nations meetings this week. The White House has argued there was no snub, that it's just that timing of the Jewish holidays and the UN meetings didn't allow for the two leaders to meet.
