Mr. Burns Explains the Fiscal Cliff
Mr. Burns from the hit TV show "The Simpsons" took a stab at explaining the "fiscal cliff" in a clip posted today on YouTube.
As he waits for a call from Karl Rove with books reading, "Binders," "Women" and "Nate Silver Can't Add" strewn around him, Mr. Burns decides it's time to issue a public service announcement about the impending "fiscal cliff."
"Think of the economy as a car and the rich man is the driver. If you don't give the driver all the money, he will drive you over a cliff. It's just common sense," Mr. Burns explains. "Furthermore, rich people feel things more deeply than the common man."
Burns then turns to unveiling a new plan for immigration - an issue both Democrats and Republicans are determined to tackle after this year's election saw huge turnout among Latino voters.
"And we've got to change our approach to immigration. I have a progressive proposal to let into this country 200 grimy Irishmen a year. I've got lots of potatoes that need peeling and staples to be mucked out," Mr. Burns said.
He then proceeds to call Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., a "panuelo rosa," which means pink handkerchief.
