As the fiscal cliff stand-off heats up, are things getting especially frosty between the president and the Speaker?
Neither President Obama nor House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, is said to think much of the deficit reduction proposal the other put on the table.
Boehner came to the White House past night for President Obama's annual holiday party for members of Congress, but the Speaker didn't pose for a photograph with the president as he has in the past and as other members of Congress did last night.
So; no moment of comity and holiday cheer. No shake of hands and warm chit-chat. No friendly greeting and moment where each pledged to work with the other to resolve this dilemma.
