President Obama Golfs After Week of Political Scandals
WASHINGTON - President Obama - despite dealing with a trio of political scandals that flared up this week - squeezed in some time on the golf course today, and included a woman in his foursome for the first time this year.
The president played golf at Andrews Air Force Base today with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, outgoing Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, and Let's Move! and nutrition policy advisor Sam Kass.
Obama has frequented the golf course often this spring, but until today always with male golfing partners. Sebelius is the first woman to join the president on the golf course this year.
The president's golf outing comes after the White House spent a week dealing with a series of political scandals, from the IRS targeting conservative groups seeking tax exempt status for extra scrutiny, to the administration's release of a trove of e-mails about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last year, to the Department of Justice obtaining phone records of Associated Press reporters.
