Law enforcement officials are investigating whether radio host-antagonist Adam Kokesh, 31, broke the law by recording a video where he apparently loaded a shotgun in Washington's Freedom Plaza Thursday, July 4.

D.C. police said the matter is still under investigation.

"The Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Park Police are aware that yesterday Adam Kokesh posted a video that appears to have been taken in Freedom Plaza in Northwest D.C.," police spokesman Araz Alali said in a statement. "We are in the process of determining the authenticity of this video."

Kokesh, an Iraq War veteran, planned an "open carry" march on Independence Day, where he and others planned to carry loaded weapons through the city. Kokesh said the march would be a warrant-less act of "civil disobedience," despite warnings by the D.C. police that carrying loaded weapons openly is illegal.

He posted the video on his YouTube page Thursday with the title "Open Carry March on DC a Success."

"We will not be silent, we will not obey, we will not allow our government to destroy our humanity," Kokesh said as he apparently loaded and cocked the weapon on camera. "We are the final American revolution. See you next Independence Day."

Kokesh has not responded to ABC News' request for comment.
