SCRANTON, Pa. - In his first public appearance since his son was hospitalized in Houston, Vice President Joe Biden said Beau is "fine," but offered no additional details about his condition.
"I just want you all to know, since so many of you have asked me about my son, things are not - it's not only good to be here, but things are good at home in Delaware," the vice president said in opening remarks at a joint event with the president in his hometown of Scranton.
"My son Beau's fine. Sends his love. He wanted me to say hello to all of you," he said. "He's doing well. He's anxious to get back to work."
The vice president cancelled events earlier in the week to spend time at Houston's MD Anderson Cancer Center with Beau, Delaware's attorney general.
Beau underwent a "successful procedure" Tuesday, after suffering what was described as an episode of "disorientation and weakness" while on vacation last week.
