In a symbolic move, President Obama has signed up for health care coverage through an online exchange.

Over the weekend, and in advance of today's previous enrollment deadline, the president selected a bronze-tiered insurance plan on the Washington, D.C. marketplace, according to a White House official.

The president's health care, however, will continue to be provided by the military.

According to the White House official, the president "was pleased to participate in a plan as a show of support for these marketplaces which are providing quality, affordable health care options to more than a million people."
