First Lady Sets the President Straight on Why Mother's Day Is a Big Deal

Before launching into his energy speech in California today, President Obama had a "public service announcement" for the audience: "Do not forget. It's Mother's Day."

The president then recalled how he once asked his wife "how come people put so much emphases on Mother's Day and Father's Day not so much?"

That's when the first lady set the commander in chief straight.

"She said, 'Every day other than Mother's Day is Father's Day,'" the president explained to applause, "which I thought kind of quieted me down."
