Pentagon Releases Video of Airstrikes Near Mosul Dam
Two videos, posted to YouTube by the U.S. military's Central Command today, show U.S. missiles striking Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) vehicles on Saturday near Mosul Dam-an armored truck and a Humvee, according to the Pentagon.
The U.S. military continued airstrikes on ISIS positions near the dam on Sunday, after launching nine on Saturday, to support a Kurdish and Iraqi ground operation to retake the dam.

Iraq's largest dam, Mosul Dam is also Iraq's most dangerous, requiring daily cement grouting work to prevent a breach. ISIS forces overtook the dam earlier this month. It continued operating, under ISIS control, an Iraqi government official told ABC News last week.
The dam sits 80 miles northwest of Erbil, the capital of Iraq's Kurdish region where U.S. military advisers and some diplomats are stationed. ISIS's advance toward Erbil prompted U.S. airstrikes to support Kurdish forces fighting ISIS.
