Discovery and Endeavour, One Last Time

Aug 12, 2011 6:27am

One last look: the space shuttles Endeavour and Discovery being moved late yesterday from one building to another at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. They already have been stripped of their engines and thrusters so that they can be shipped off to museums to spend the rest of their days.  Click on the picture to enlarge. Discovery is on the right.  It will be sent to the Smithsonian's Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles Airport in Virginia; Endeavour will go to the California Science Center in Los Angeles.  You will not see many pictures like this again.   (NASA/Frankie Martin)
