Is this the world’s worst boyfriend? A British man has admitted to being the culprit in a vicious three-and-a-half year cyber-stalking scheme against his own girlfriend.

Ruth Jeffery, 22, a student at Loughborough University in England, spent years receiving detailed messages that lead her to believe she was being watched, receiving explicit photos and videos, and having her Facebook account hacked, according to The Guardian.

She never suspected the offender was her boyfriend Shane Webber, 22, and now she wants him in jail.

“I want him to be put in prison because he has wrecked the past three-and-a-half years of my life,” Jeffery said, according to The Guardian. “I’ve known him for 10 years, so in a way it feels like the past 10 years have been wasted. We were really close. We did everything together. I would tell him everything. I thought he was telling me everything.”

Webber also allegedly impersonated Jeffery online, sending sexual messages to people saying she was attracted to them. He even gave out her address, which led to a man showing up at her house.

Jeffery eventually realized that some of the details in the messages were things only her boyfriend would know, but when she and her parents confronted him, he denied any involvement. He even allegedly blamed a friend who was arrested and had his computer taken by police.

But it was a nasty stunt in June that got him caught. Webber used Jeffery’s personal email address to send explicit photos of her to everyone in her contact list, including her family. Authorities used the email to trace the computer from which they were sent, which lead to Webber.

On Monday, Webber pleaded guilty to a charge of causing harassment, alarm or distress.

“I want other people to realize it has not been me [sending the photos and messages], and I want it to put other people off from doing the same thing,” Jeffery said.
