Demi, Ashton Break Twitter Silence to Give Thanks
It seems fitting that Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, the former Mr. and Mrs. of Twitter, would break their social media silence through tweets.
Once Twitter fanatics, the couple had gone relatively quiet on the social media website since Moore announced she was filing for divorce from Kutcher on Nov. 17.
But the actress used Thanksgiving Day to make a Twitter comeback, tweeting, “Why do we have only 1 day for giving thanks? Is that why so many people feel unappreciated? Make this 1 of 365 days of Thanksgiving!”
Not one to be upstaged on Twitter, even by his ex-wife, Kutcher posted his own Thanksgiving Day message shortly after she did, tweeting, “I’m thankful for family, friends, you, & time to reach my potential. What are you thankful for? #thanksgiving.”
Before yesterday, Kutcher’s last tweet and first public words about his split with Moore was on Nov. 17, which he posted moments after the divorce was announced: “ “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK”
So far Moore has maintained her twitter handle, “MrsKutcher,” which has accued over 4 million followers. Sometimes Twitter will allow users to change their handles without losing their followers, but for now, “@DemiMoore” remains unclaimed.
Speculation about Kutcher’s alleged affairs with other women chased the couple for months prior to Moore’s divorce announcement. Following 22-year-old Sara Leal’s claim that she and the “Two and a Half Men” star slept together in September, Moore and Kutcher were seen earlier this month attending multiple Kabbalah sessions, seemingly trying to mend their marriage.
Moore, 49, and Kutcher, 33, have been married since 2005. She was previously married to Bruce Willis for 13 years.
