Keeping Up with the Kardashian Hatred

Kim Kardashian, punching bag du jour.

The ratings of her latest reality TV show may be up, but Kim Kardashian‘s real-world popularity remains about as high as that of the flu and checked-baggage fees.

Daniel Craig is the latest star to rail against the soon-to-be-single-again reality TV personality and her family.

“Look at the Kardashians, they’re worth millions,” he said in an interview in the latest issue of British GQ. “I don’t think they were that badly off to begin with but now look at them. You see that and you think ‘What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f**king idiot on television and then you’ll pay me millions.’ I’m not judging it — well, I am obviously.”

President Obama has said he’s not a fan of the family; Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley and Eric Stonestreet mocked Kardashian’s divorce fiasco at the Country Music Awards. Even Chelsea Handler, whose late night show airs on the same network as Kardashian’s, has distanced herself, telling MTV, “Luckily, I don’t work at the [E!] building, so I don’t have to hang out with the Kardashians.”

Then there are the hundreds of thousands of people who signed a petition asking E! to take the K-happy gang off television. Still, E!’s Sunday premiere of “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” scored 3.2 million viewers, topping the series’ January debut, no doubt thanks to a scene in which Kardashian practices yoga with a naked male instructor.

The news that Kardashian’s older sister, Kourtney, is expecting baby No. 2 is sure to keep hardkore Kardashian fans tuned in too.
