The Kardashian family will have one more name on their shopping list this Christmas, and it’s not a new husband.

Kourtney, 32, the oldest of the Kardashian sisters, and boyfriend Scott Disick are expecting their second child.

“I’m nine weeks along,” the fashion designer and reality TV star confirmed today in a statement to E! News and in an Us Weekly cover story. “You’re supposed to wait 12 weeks to tell people, but I feel confident.”

The new baby will be the second child for the couple whose son, Mason, will turn two in December.

Kardashian and Disick have been together for five years.

Their on-again, off-again relationship has been documented by TV cameras through the family’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” series on E! and the spin-off “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” series, which premiered Sunday night.

Rumors of Disick’s alleged infidelity have swirled around the couple, along with his struggles to get along with her close-knit family and his efforts to get sober and quit smoking.  TV viewers watched Kardashian turn down Disick’s marriage proposal on their four-and-a-half-year anniversary last April, saying she was not ready to marry him yet.

While Mason’s birth in 2010 was a surprise for the then off-again couple, Disick says their second child was a bit more anticipated.

“It wasn’t like we weren’t trying,” Disick, 28, says in the Us Weekly story. “We kind of just said, ‘If it’s meant to be, it’ll be.’”

Kardashian told the magazine she has known she was pregnant for about five weeks.  She said she took a pregnancy test and woke up Disick early in the morning to tell him the baby news.

Her pregnancy news is a ray of sunshine for the Kardashian clan which has grabbed plenty of headlines in the last few weeks.

Kourtney’s older sister, Kim, 31, filed for divorce from her husband, Kris Humphries, 26, in October only 72 days after an extravagant wedding that aired as a two-part special on E!

Her younger brother, Rob, fell just short of grabbing the mirror ball trophy earlier this month on “Dancing with the Stars,” coming in second place behind winner J.R. Martinez.

Hundreds of thousands of people have signed a petition asking E! to take the family off television.

A holiday special with the family to be aired on E! was also reportedly scrapped due to scheduling conflicts and fallout from Kim’s divorce, though both E! and the family denied that a special, first reported by the New York Post, was in the works.

Kardashian’s pregnancy news is well-timed coming just as she launches a parenting focused web series called  Kourtney’s Mommy Blog, on E! Online.

In her first episode, the pregnant star takes viewers on a tour through Mason’s closet in the family’s New York City hotel room, offering her tips on how to layer for weather, mix high and low-priced items and even how to dress your son in pink clothes and prints.

Kourtney is a part-owner, along with Kim and younger sister Khloe, of the DASH clothing boutiques in California, Los Angeles and New York City.  The three sisters also design the “Kardashian Kollection” clothing line for Sears.
