"GMA" is the Only Morning Program to Grow in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 Versus its Year-Ago Averages

ABC News' "Good Morning America" ranked No. 1 for week of June 25, 2012 with 4.604 million Total Viewers to rank No. 1 for the 5th time in the last 12 weeks, according to Live + Same Day Nielsen data. "GMA" tied NBC's "Today" (4.604 million) for the week in Total Viewers.

In addition, based on the most recent numbers of Nielsen's C3 Ratings data (Commercial Ratings + 3 Day Playback) for the week of June 11, 2012, ABC News' "Good Morning America" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (4.702 million), beating NBC's "Today" (4.615 million) by +87,000 viewers. In fact, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers in 7 of the last 10 weeks. Commercial Ratings + 3 Days of Playback are the television industry's currency used to broker sales to advertisers.

"GMA" ranked No. 1 on Friday (6/29/12), outdelivering "Today," featuring Savannah Guthrie as co-anchor, in both Total Viewers (+664,000 - 4.852 million vs. 4.188 million) and Adults 25-54 (+112,000 - 1.858 million vs. 1.746 million) . In fact, "GMA's" Friday telecast stood as the most-watched morning newscast of the week.

Week to week, "GMA" was up by +3% in Total Viewers and by +3% in Adults 25-54 (4.459 million and 1.625 million, respectively, on w/o 6/18/12).

"GMA" also saw increases in Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%) over the year-ago week (4.350 million and 1.614 million, respectively, on w/o 6/27/11).

"GMA" slashed nearly half of its year-to-year margin with "Today" in Adults 25-54 (-48% - 277,000 vs. 528,000) . "GMA" has cut its year-to-year demo gap with the NBC morning newscast by double-digits for the last 26 weeks and in 40 of 41 weeks this season.

Season to date, "GMA" has cut its gaps with "Today" in half in both Total Viewers (-53%) and Adults 25-54 (-49%) versus its year-ago season gaps. In fact, "GMA" is posting its smallest Total Viewer (366,000) and Adults 25-54 (377,000) margins with "Today" in 16 years - since the 1995-96 Season.

Season to date "GMA" is the only morning program to grow in Total Viewers (+4%) and Adults 25-54 (+7%) versus its year-ago averages (NBC's "Today:" -4%/-9%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning:" -7%/-9%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in 6 years, since 2005-06.

"GMA" more than doubled the performance of "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+104% - 4.604 million vs. 2.252 million), while nearly doubling in Adults 25-54 (+93% - 1.669 million vs. 867,000).
