A pregnant Duchess of Cambridge has made her first on-camera charitable appeal for children's hospices in the United Kingdom.

In the video, which made its debut Saturday, Kate Middleton urges people to support children's hospice week.

"Children's hospices provide lifelines to families at a time of unimaginable pain," the royal mum-to-be says in the video.

Middleton and Prince William are celebrating their second wedding anniversary on Monday, the same day the Duchess plans to visit Naomi Children's Hospital in Hampshire, England.

Two years after their fairy tale wedding, the royal couple have shown a desire to live as normal a life as they possible can.

"They're really shaking things up behind the scenes and within the royal family," said ABC News' royals expert Victoria Arbiter. "They've done things that we wouldn't have expect of them."

They've also spent vacations with Kate's family, commoners who made their fortune with a party goods business.

"I think William was sending a clear message that yes, Kate's a member of the royal family, but he, too, is a member of the Middleton family," Arbiter said.

With the royal heir due in two months, the royal couple plan to be hands-on parents.

"They will have nannies at some point," Arbiter said, "but I don't think it's going to be the school of nannies we've seen in the past."
