Compiled by ABC News Jayce Henderson, Carrie Halperin, and Will Cantine

PRESIDENT OBAMA: ABC News' Mary Bruce: " Obama - Don't Boo The RNC, Vote" As Republicans began their first night of convention speakers, President Obama told supporters his opponents will put on an "entertaining" show in Tampa with lots of glitz, but little substance. LINK

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION: ABC News' Emily Friedman and Gregory J. Krieg: " Ann Romney Tells Woman Her Husband 'Will Not Let Us Down'" Ann Romney, the wife of the Republican presidential nominee, told Americans Tuesday that they could trust her husband and in a blunt appeal to women said, "This man will not let us down." LINK

The Hill's Niall Stanage: " In personal address, Ann Romney tells voters 'this man will not fail'" Ann Romney delivered a deeply personal address on behalf of her husband to the Republican National Convention here Tuesday night, telling the capacity crowd that Mitt Romney is a compassionate leader, not the icy-hearted plutocrat that Democrats portray. LINK

The Los Angeles Times' Michael Memoli: " Chris Christie touts his record, Romney's, in keynote speech" Chris Christie put his famously combative leadership style up against a status quo in which leaders have become "paralyzed by our desire to be loved," as he made the case that Mitt Romney would tackle the nation's challenges without regard for political consequences, much as he has done as New Jersey governor. LINK

The New York Daily News' Jonathan Lemire: " Ann Romney leads way as Republicans kick off convention by wrapping brutal attacks on President Obama in blanket of sentimentality" Republicans kicked off their convention Tuesday by wrapping their brutal attacks on President Obama in a blanket of sentimentality - and Ann Romney led the way. Mitt Romney's high school sweetheart opened up to America on Tuesday, urging undecided voters to fall in love with her husband as she did. LINK

The Washington Times' Stephen Dinan: " Christie vouches for Romney: 'Solutions will not be painless'" Kicking off Republicans' 2012 nominating convention with a piercing critique of American political life, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Tuesday politicians and voters alike have "become paralyzed" by an inability to live within limits, and he challenged both groups to accept that there are some promises government should not make, and cannot meet. LINK

USA Today's Martha T. Moore: " Ann Romney Appeals To Women In RNC Speech" Her mission was to soften her husband's image, but before she spoke about the "boy I met at a dance," Ann Romney made a strong pitch for the support by women that has so far eluded Mitt Romney's Republican party. LINK

USA Today's John Bacon and Catalina Camia: " It's Official: Romney Claims GOP Nomination" Mitt Romney's arduous road to the Republican nomination came to a triumphant conclusion Tuesday when delegates at the party's convention formally selected him to oppose President Obama on Nov. 6 and GOP stars lined up to sing his praises at the podium. LINK

USA Today's David Jackson: " Santorum Lauds Romney, Blasts Obama" Rick Santorum, the last Republican to stand between Mitt Romney and the GOP presidential nomination, paid tribute to the victor on Tuesday night. But the former two-term senator from Pennsylvania spent more time criticizing President Obama during his remarks to the Republican convention. LINK

The Wall Street Journal's Coleen McCain and John D. McKinnon; " Republicans Anoint Romney" Republicans kicked off their national convention Tuesday with a day of speeches aimed at bolstering a weakness in Mitt Romney's bid for the White House-his tepid support among women voters-while building the argument for a policy platform that calls for federal spending cuts and a Medicare overhaul. LINK

The Boston Globe's David Espo: " Ann Romney Says Mitt Is The 'Man America Needs'" After sweeping the Republican presidential nomination, Mitt Romney was praised lovingly by his wife from the stage of RNC and cheered by delegates eager to propel him into the fall campaign against President Obama. LINK

The Boston Globe's Matt Viser and Brian MacQuarrie: " Words Warm, Combative As GOP Nominates Romney" Mitt Romney arrived here from Massachusetts on Tuesday and was formally nominated as the Republican Party's presidential nominee, with his party quickly shifting toward reshaping the images that the country has of him even as their efforts competed for attention with a hurricane gaining strength and expected to strike New Orleans on Wednesday. Ann Romney - his sweetheart, his best friend, and his most important political adviser - began trying to showcase a softer image of her husband. LINK

The Washington Post's Dan Balz: " Chris Christie rouses RNC convention" Mitt Romney may be the Republican Party's presidential nominee and Paul Ryan the running mate, but Chris Christie takes a back seat to no one in the GOP. The New Jersey governor was once a possible rival to Romney. Although he insisted that he didn't think he was ready to be president, Christie had to keep swatting away speculation and encouragement to jump into the race at a time when the party was still learning to love Romney. LINK

Politico's Alexander Burns: " GOP vows to "Save America," boost Mitt" The Republican Party unveiled Mitt Romney as its general-election candidate Tuesday night, seeking to reintroduce him to the electorate as a champion of political reform and conservative business values who would turn back the anti-capitalist policies of the Obama administration. In a lineup of speeches capped off by Ann Romney and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Republicans tackled the dual challenges that define Romney's general-election fight: convincing the American people that he has a plan for economic recovery and rebutting a summer's worth of harsh attacks from the Obama campaign. LINK

Bloomberg's Catherine Dodge and Lisa Lerer: " GOP Nominates Romney As Wife Downplays Storybook Marriage" With New Jersey's delegate vote count tonight, Mitt Romney surpassed the 1,144 votes he needed to become the 2012 Republican Party's presidential nominee. That moment during the roll call of states drew thunderous applause inside the Tampa Bay Forum, where the party opened its convention a day late after Hurricane Isaac passed the state yesterday on its way toward New Orleans.
