Reporter: This morning, one consumer group is asking if vitamin water is as healthy as some might think? Do you think vitamin watter is healthy? Yes. It's vitamins and water. Reporter: The judge is clearing the way for the center of is science in the public interest, to sue coca-cola. The cspi accuses the company of misleading marketing practices. We want people to make an informed purchasing decision. Reporter: They say the advertising promotes the product as healthy, by claiming certain types of the drink can, among other things, quote, reduce risk for eye disease, or promote healthy joints. And goes on to point out, a 20-ounce bottle like this one, often contains eight teaspoons of sugar. That's like sucking seven to eight lollipops in one sitting. Reporter: Coca-cola says, no consumer could reasonably be misled thinking that vitamin water was a healthy beverage. They're giving us a boatload of sugar. Reporter: The cspi wants the labels changed. But coca-cola says the claims are without merit and will ultimately be rejected.
