We are back with a fresh idea from a vending machine company and its nourishing pandemic pivot helping to feed first responders. Take a look at farmer's fridge. Farmer's fridge is a supplier of fresh-made salads, meals, snacks. So we basically make fresh food every single day, and deliver it through a network of refrigerated trucks to vending machines and homes across the country which you can find in places like airports and hospitals, universities, and office buildings, in six states -- Chicago, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. We go and we source whole ingredients, directly from farms, and people who we know, we can trust, to make food that's safe, and delicious, and makes you feel good. The average meal is about $6.95 so you can find things that are inexpensive as $4.00 and all the way up to a $10.00 salad with chicken. I started farmer's fridge as a traveling salesman driving thousands of miles a week. I couldn't find anything healthy on the road and I thought why can't I make fresh healthy food as accessible as a candy bar? I knew if I made it accessible more people would eat it and will live a healthier life. When the pandemic hit I was extremely nervous about the shelter in place order and people leaving offices and we quickly realized that people would need healthy eating options and healthy eating is still just as important as ever. Our business compared to before the pandemic has actually gotten back to 100% for 2020, the team was able to pivot into the home delivery business, and we actually were supporting front line workers and communities in need around Chicago. So we ended up donating over $500,000 of meals during the height of the shelter in place back in April and may. One of the programs that we launched during this year was the chef collaboration. We reached out to chefs across our markets and asked them for ideas, for meals that we could prepare, and deliver to customers, through our home delivery program. So when we choose ingredients at farmer's fridge, we start with the customer and what do they want and try to figure out what's going to be tastiest, most affordable dish we can make. We now have new challenges to deal with, and it's often very difficult to find a healthy meal, in the middle of a busy day. So smart. I love what they're doing. It is hard to find a healthy meal in the middle of the day. Everything is fast and it is usually not that healthy. It's true. They're giving back on top of it, also. Win/win. Still ahead on "Gma3," Dr.
