Dr. Jen is here now with answers to your coronavirus questions and we always have so many of them. So the first one, how do vitamin C supplements support your immune system, is it a good idea to take one every day? Here's the thing with vitamin C, when I got my degree in nutrition, I was pretty disappointed to learn that you can take all the vitamin C you want and ultimately it will come out in your urine, your receptors for vitamin C when they get filled they're full. In a lab setting, some data that's important in supporting our immune function and our immune defense. I want to be so clear here, nutritionists, nutritional science, there's no supplement or food at this point that has been conclusively prove on the to prevent or treat covid-19. So get it in your foods, don't go overboard on the supplement. I haven't been able to stop going to the grocery store. This next question asks, if everyone is wearing masks, is it risky to shop indoors? The strongest data thus far suggesting that masks can make an activity like that relatively low risk comes from Missouri. We talked about it this summer. Hairstylists infected with covid-19, they worked on 139 clients. This is prolonged close contact, both people wore masks, there was not a single case of covid-19. Again, mask, mask, mask. Is it considered safe to go to the dentist for a cleaning? A cleaning is different from an emergency. The American dental association and the centers for disease control said that dental care is considered essential health care. Dentists have been taken extreme precautions way before the coronavirus pandemic. The risk is largely on them since you don't have a mask on and there's a lot of saliva kind of flowing, they're taking all the proper precautions and you should not delay dental I got my cleaned. Same. Yeah. T.J.? I'm going to make an appointment. I was in there for something else, I had an extraction. My goodness. If you have any questions for Dr. Jen, go to her Instagram. @Drjashton.
