Reporter: Tonight, it's the moment at a southside hospital in bay shore, New York, that had so many cheering. This woman leaving the hospital after nearly two weeks in the icu, battling the coronavirus. Delivering her son, Walter, while in a coma. Her husband handing Walter to her. She's holding him for the first time. It's the untold story of so many mothers across the country. In Vancouver, Washington, 27-year-old respiratory therapist Angela holding her 15-day-old daughter for the first time. She decided to leave work and stay home with her family and then she developed a cough. It was like one of those coughs. Reporter: Things quickly got worse. She tested positive for covid-19 and required intensive care. I was just literally like, god, just get me through five more minutes because breathing was so much harder. I'm like, gasping for air, you Reporter: She was placed in a medically induced coma. Her team of doctors made the difficult decision for the health of baby and mom to deliver while she was still in a coma. I didn't realize that I had the baby.
