Now to the massive protests erupting in Puerto Rico overnight. Thousands of people taking to the streets doubling down on their calls for the governor to resign. The protesters getting support from some of the island's most famous faces. Victor Oquendo was there and joins us now from San Juan, good morning, Victor. Reporter: Good morning, robin. It was a long night and a tense standoff that finally came to a head when protesters threw fireworks at police behind that barricade. The governor's mansion just about a block away and the calls for him to resign have never been louder. Overnight, thousands of Puerto rican S flooding the streets demanding Ricardo rossello step down. Protesters clashing with police, crowds sent running. As canisters of tear gas are launched at them, some of the island's biggest stars like Ricky martin and bad bunny calling for peaceful pro-he its. Benicio del toro lending his support. It's very sad. You understand their frustration. I completely understand their I'm on their side. Reporter: At times also turning violent. Protesters hurling projectiles and police firing back in response.
