Transcript for ‘Birds of Prey’ cast shares their experiences with each other on set
They're all here for me. Aren't they? No. They're not. No, they're not. Do you know what that means? That means he's not just after the kid anymore. He's after all of us. Sure as hell after me. I just robbed him. You just betrayed him. You just killed his bff and you're dumb enough to be building a case against him. Welcome back and that was a clip from "Birds of prey." The supervillain Harley Quinn is back and she has a powerful girl gang with her. They're all here with us this morning. Please welcome Margot Robbie, Rosie Perez, jurnee smollett-bell and Ella Jay Basco. Welcome to you all. So much girl power in this film, but in everything about this movie. This is the first all-female superhero movie produced, directed and written by women. Which is amazing. And, Rosie, did this set feel different than any others. Yes, you know, I've had the privilege -- excuse me, I'm a little sick. I'm not contagious, don't worry but I've had the privilege in over 30 years in this business to work with female directors and producers but never on this magnitude. Never on a studio level big budget film have I ever experienced this ever before and I hope it continues and I have to say this is one kick ass executive producer. Really is. Really are. Really done very, very well. You are a killing the game as they say. But, jurnee, a lot of tough days on set. Yeah. A lot of work to make these S but there were nice fun get-togethers hosted by these two here. Who is telling all our business? For real. We have a code of silence. I mean, yes, we trained for over five months to be able to do most of the stunts in the film and felt incredibly powerful and strong, but it kicked our butts and we definitely had moments where we were like, you know, gathering in Rosie's trailer and taking shots. Shots of -- I heard you had a special drink. She has the greatest drink. You guys, cohitoes. Coquitoes. I can drink it, show. That's all that matters. You can drink it. But I love that about you. That you guys being so close when you're not even filming but I got to say, Ella, for you, you talked about training. Your training was a little different, you're 13 years old so your training was a little different. I did do a lot of magic training and worked with a magician from the magic castle and he taught me some sleight of hand and how to steal some wallets and some money. Such a great lesson for a 13-year-old. I know. Wonderful role model. Stay out of my dressing room. But, Margot, obviously there's so many characters in this universe so if we get a sequel, is there -- DC. I know, DC. Is there a certain character you would like to bring in if we see a seek Juul. I'd love to see poison ivy on screen again. I love her. And, of course, if we're talking "Birds of prey," Oracle is a pretty integral -- in is like the formation of "Birds of prey" and I hope after the film they can shoot off in the universe and, yeah, it would be cool -- there's so many more female DC characters. I'm just like bring them both. Bring them all. Catwoman. We could have a good time. I am happy that we brought you all here. Seriously. Cannot wait. "Birds of prey," everybody hits theaters this Friday. Make sure you go check it out and we'll make sure our audience does because you're all going home with imax tickets. There you go. Thank you. Margot, Rosie, jurnee and Ella.
