Now to our "Gma" cover story. As Jeff bridges fights cancer, he's keeping fans updated sharing a new photo and a personal note. Stephanie Ramos has the story. Reporter: This morning, Jeff bridges opening up about his battle with cancer. The 70-year-old actor sharing this photo of himself in a hospital gown hooked up to an I.V. Thanking fans for their support. This aggression will not stand, man. Reporter: Bridges known affectionately as the dude for his famous character in "The big lebowski" revealed his lymphoma diagnosis earlier this month saying his prognosis is good and promising to keep fans updated on his recovery. Nobody calls me lebowski. You got the wrong guy. I'm the dude, man. Reporter: Now the dude abides chronicling his treatment in an online journal writing, this cancer is making me appreciate my mortality, appreciate impermanence. Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer that develops in the lymphatic system, part of the body's disease-fighting network, can affect patients of any age. Nearly 800,000 Americans are living with or in remission from lymphoma, and more than 85,000 new cases are expected to be diagnosed this year. Symptoms can be variable, and it's important to talk to your primary care physician about any new or concerning symptoms. Most notably, night sweats that are significant, unexplained weight loss, change in appetite and even fever, and the prognosis or the outcome can be variable based off the specific type of lymphoma one has and the treatment can include chemotherapy, radiation and even in some cases surgery.
