Transcript for Arrest Made in California Home Invasion Caught on Video
Next tonight, new developments in that home invasion in San Jose, California. Police announcing an arrest late today on the heels of that dramatic surveillance video we showed you last night here. ABC's Cecilia Vega with the new details coming in tonight. Reporter: The burglars were in and out of this California home in just over three minutes. Surveillance cameras rolling as they methodically moved through the house, grabbing kitchen knives, cutting the cord on the phone line, bolting upstairs, peering into bedrooms. Hiding inside one of those rooms, a terrified family and a 1-year-old baby girl. I don't know what his intention was. He was there to kidnap or kill or hurt or, I don't know. Reporter: One woman barricading the bedroom door with her body. The crooks kicking in a hole in the door, just before fleeing. Police say they arrested one of those suspects today. He's just 17 years old. Anything could have gone wrong. Reporter: The family home burglarized before. The family installing high tech cameras as a deterrent, but these thiefs got in the old fashioned way, right through an unlocked back door. They didn't make off with much. Other than one family's sense of security inside their own home. Cecilia Vega, ABC news, San Francisco.
