Hey, janai. Good morning. This is a heartbreaking story and the family recounts the day that changed their lives playing outside doing gymnastics and a water gun fight and moments later doing cpr on their youngest son. This morning, Granger Smith and his wife amber opening up for the first time since the tragic death of their 3-year-old son river. I don't think I've ever been nervous to do a video. Reporter: Posted on YouTube revealing how they're trying to heal. I'll hold off on meet and music has always been my healing. Reporter: Granger, famous for music and his family's popular YouTube page, the Smiths, announced the tragic death by drowning of his son approximately two weeks ago on social media triggering an outpouring of support from families and fans. We have talked to some celebrity parents who have gone through this. This seems to help having that understanding with each other. Reporter: In the video the couple explains how they're looking for lessons and finding light in their darkest time. Something we are kind of setting up for the future to be prepared to meet people to talk to, something like this, it has been -- it's only been two weeks but it's been a journey. And we're learning. We're still learning every day. Reporter: The new video has an emotional tribute to their son. Good will come out of this and our belief that god gave us river for three years and that was his mission and I don't believe that god takes anyone too soon. Reporter: The couple thanking the first responders and reminding everyone of the most important lesson of all. Love those close to you, soak up those moments, live for today. Live in the present because we're not guaranteed tomorrow. Reporter: And they say river lived just over a thousand days. Granger says he was put on Earth for that exact amount of time and their message, don't feel sorry for us because we feel very blessed.
