Coming up right now, Vanna does her magic and off we'll go. Reporter: Pat Sajak, the show's host for over three decades is taking time off recovering from emergency surgery. The show first announcing the news on Twitter writing our taping on Thursday was canceled because host Pat Sajak underwent successful emergency surgery to correct a blocked intestine. He is resting comfortably and looking forward to getting back to work. While the 73-year-old is recuperating his co-host for nearly four decade, Vanna white stepping in for him on Friday after the show's taping was canceled the previous day. "Wheel of fortune," the longest running syndicated game show ever, celebrating its 7,000th episode in may. People look at us as part of their lives. It's a nice position to be in when you're a little old television show. Reporter: Viewers watching the dynamic duo working side by side for 37 years. White's been turning tiles and lighting up letters ever since. And this isn't the first time the 62-year-old has filled in as host.
