Transcript for The 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' cast talk ending the space saga
The "Star wars" cast of episode nine sitting down with our Paula Faris talking about the teaser that broke the internet, their characters and how the saga finally ends. This is your fight. Reporter: It's the latest installment in the 40-year "Star wars" saga. Fans are getting their first look at the new film at "Star wars" celebration in Chicago. The film shrouded in secrecy. We sat down with the cast to try and get some information. What are the repercussions if any of you slip? Death I think is it. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Struck by lightning. Death by light saber? They come for me personally. Death by litigation. No one's ever really gone. Reporter: The cast, silent now even with the new trailer, it's something director J.J. Abrams is expecting. It's important to preserve for the audience, the fun of the surprise and so I think it's -- it's -- I know sometimes it can seem annoying and like we're trying to be coy, be you it's about preserving the experience for the audience. Reporter: Still, some cannot help themselves from spilling secrets to friends and family. I tell them everything. I'll say it. You tell them everything? You tell them everything. If I were to ask you who's most prone to slip up, would it be John? No. Even if he said something, it might not mean anything in that moment, and you go, oh. Out of context, it's the thought. Is there anything in the trailer trying to lead us into a different direction? Is there anything that might be misleading? I don't think so. No. Let me ask you. You took a long hiatus from the what was it like to come back? Oh, it was great. It was a really wonderful experience, and certainly working with J.J. Was quite exceptional. Where does Billy end and Lando begin or is it just one person? I really -- I don't want to sound like I'm bragging -- It's okay. You can. Brag, dude. Brag. I created that character. I understand that character very well. How you doing, chewbacca? Reporter: But like many in this space of family, asking if Lando has had any children in the last few years, not that Williams will say. Are you coming back as a father? What? Are you coming back as a father? What? Reporter: The theories running rampant online, are that Jana will be the latest to join the fight. I can admit that Jana has a dad, and she also has a mother. You will find out about jannah most definitely. I can guarantee you will know about her history. You have no place in this you come from nothing. Reporter: The bloodline debate still raging, especially with Daisy Ridley's Rae, and led to believe she's not a Skywalker. Abrams may be leaving that door wide open. I will say that there is more to the story than you think. Reporter: And that's not the only relationship we'll see explained. There was a blossoming relationship between you and Finn at the end of the movie. Will that be explored a little bit? Listen. Finn's a busy guy. He's got a lot of things going on in the galaxy. You're trying to get on the schedule, right? Reporter: But the biggest challenge for everyone involved is delivering the best ending possible for a saga that's 40 years in the making, something the cast is very aware of. I think it's a very satisfying ending. We demand satisfaction. Reporter: For "Good morning America," Paula Faris, ABC news, Chicago. How good is it to see Billy Dean Williams back as Lando. Cannot wait to see that December 20th. Ginger zee, date night. Oh, I'm there.
