But we'll start this half hour with the intensifying efforts to solve a decades-old mystery in Vatican City. A container holding human remains just opened, possibly revealing new clues on a teenage girl who went missing three decades ago. ABC's will reeve joins us from Vatican City with all that. Will, good morning. Reporter: Good morning, whit. When officials went inside the Vatican yesterday to examine those two containers of human remains, they basically thought they knew what they would find and how much. But now, they have a lot more to contend with. This morning, an unexpected twist in the search for a missing teenage girl 36 years after she disappeared. A forensic experts saying thousands of bones found perhaps belonging to dozens of people all underneath Vatican college. We didn't expect an enormous number, he said. They're now trying to determine if some of those bones can be from emanuelaorlandi. They'll have to do forensic analysis. To see if they're a man, woman, child. Reporter: Orlandi's family believes the Vatican hasn't revealed everything it knows. Investigators acting on a tip opened the tomb of two German princesses, but found nothing. Vatican officials found the two containers of remains nearby perhaps moved due to construction years ago. It's possible that there were renovation work was done that people charged with being careful with documenting every item that was found weren't so careful and so now the Vatican 40 years, 50 years later is having to deal with that. Reporter: All begging the question whose bones are these? Orlandi family supporters vowing they won't be satisfied until they get answers. Why is this important? The Vatican needs to make their files public, the truth needs to come out. Now the search continues. Orlandi's brother feels that as long as her body isn't found his sister is alive. The examination of all those bones will resume next Saturday. Members of the Orlandi family telling ABC news because of the sheer volume of bones found, 24 bags of bones, compiled according the family lawyer, it will take much longer than expected to get a definitive answer.
