Transcript for Christian Siriano's 2020 fashion trends, 2019 fashion flops
We are back with "Project runway" mentor Christian Siriano. He's revealing what we need to say good-bye to in 2019 and hello to in 2020. Okay, so since we're past -- like 2019 is on its way out let's talk about what we're saying good-bye to first. For me, I think the athleisure. Oh shoot. Listen, I love it, I love it, but it is really not for all day every day. We don't need to live our life in it fully. You don't need to go to to the office and the party and dinner. Come on, change it up. So that's what I'm ready to say good-bye to. I am excited for the idea of a little bit of return to glamour. I think it's like -- I don't know, getting dressed up makes you feel good so why not? Seeing a lot of extreme sleeves. The poof sleeves. I love a sleeve, sure. Love a good shoulder pad, love. Why did we let them go? Power, it's about power. I think 2019 was about representing women power, you know? Yeah. Okay, I want to go back real quick. You said enough of the athleisure but back to glamour. What if I had bike shorts on with a nice blazer? That's athleisure. No, not the bike shorts with the blazer. I would kind of like it. Now -- Only on you though. Thank you. This is 2019 but I feel like it's getting even more amped up in 2020. We're not in 2020 yet but even with lizzo on the carpet with the micro bag. I love the micro. I think it's so funny. I think it's hilarious. You can't put anything in it but a quarter which is kind of funny. Or you could fold up something really small and open it up and read it out. That would be fun. It's more than just a little bag. Now it's also the small micro glasses basically. I don't understand that either. You can't see out of that. I didn't get into the micro glasses. Is that in for 2020 or let it go? I don't know. I kind of am into it for 2020. Just because I think it's funny. I want to see how small the bags and the glasses can get, like this big like a Barbie bag. It's like a shrinky dink. Does anybody remember shrinky dinks? No. Christian and keke are too young. I'll be honest with you, maybe I'm too old for it because I don't remember it either. You were in Germany, sweetie, but it was a big thing here. I don't think they had them in Germany. You shrunk them. No. What about this, what about utility jumpsuits? Oh, I do love a cool jumpsuit. I think a cool jumpsuit is going to continue for 2020. I think it's going to modify and hopefully becomes a little more beaded but that's just my dream. I'm into a jumpsuit. Yours is cute. Very cute. Utilities are the baggy ones, right? This is kind of like -- this is kind of like a fitted upscale version of a utility jumpsuit. Christian, the real question is, what can we expect from you in 2020? Listen, it's going to be a busy year. "Project runway," we're so excited and it's going to be a busy year. We come back from the holiday and it's award season so we'll see how it goes. I'm going to be looking -- I'm coming to you, okay? You need a dress, let me know. We might be on the red carpet at the oscars and we'll be checking out who's wearing -- He'll be in bike shorts and a
