To an act of kindness that went badly awry. An 89-year-old woman thought that she was helpful but almost cost her life. Reporter: An 89-year-old woman has a big spirit and even a bigger story to tell. It began on march 18th when she stopped at this convenience store for an ice cream cone. Two teenaged girls asked her for a ride. First I decided not to. Second, I thought good deed. Reporter: Smith's good deed didn't go unpunished. After driving away they did the unthinkable. Snatching her keys and stuffing her in the trunk. Smith would spend the next two days crammed in that trunk. No food. No water. In fact, the only time the girls opened the trunk was to rob her of her cash. I was ver tired, cold, hungry, scared. Reporter: Smith is no stranger to adversity. She grew up in a poor delaware neighborhood where she still live. She went to school and opened her own beauty store. Her kidnappers decided to dump her in this remote cemetery. I was crawling through the cemetery on hands and knees. No jacket. Reporter: Days later, smith's alleged captors were captured. As for smith, she has a message for those young ladies -- you ought to be kind to other people if you want somebody to be kind to you. Absolutely. Meanwhile, police were able to track down that car, those two teen jj aged girls still driving around in it. They're just 14-year-old and 15-year-old. They're being charged as adults.
