As we just a good morning everybody on this Wednesday were gonna start with the breaking news a special congressional election in Pennsylvania is still too close to call this morning only a few hundred votes separate the candidates with more absentee ballots left to count. Still the Democrats are declaring victory. ABC's Aaron pal Mary has been watching this low slow vote counted early morning hours she joins us now with the very latest there. Good morning candidates and I and that's right the country is watching congressional race that is too close to call. In Washington the election in Western Pennsylvania is seen as an indicator of the country's political pulse just more than one year into the trump presidency. Overnight though it's still being counted in a razor thin special election. A little after midnight. Democratic candidate Connor land declaring victory just a 579. Vote lead over Republican Mexico. And more than thirteen hundred absentee ballots still outstanding. It took a little longer than we thought but we did it. Republicans not ready to concede you know we're still fighting the fight it's not a react. We're gonna fight all the laid it all go away and the race being watched from around the country as a Bellwether of what sitcom in the mid term elections president trump stumping for -- tone over the weekend. In 2016 he won that district by nearly twenty points. The rule watch it. Because I won this district like by 22 points. Alone. A victory for land in trump country is seen as a sign of a blue wave across the country one for Democrats this win could rally their fundraising effort ahead of the November elections. Just days after signing market rattling tariffs president trump in steel country came out swinging against the democratic candidate. Who has claimed he's running as a moderate let the ship. Land here. Each act like the Republicans simply gets he won't give me one. Republicans have spent a whopping ten million dollars on this race. Earlier this morning the National Republican Congressional Committee said they're ready to ensure that every legal vote is counted. Diane.
