Reporter: Tonight, a teenage surfer rushed to the hospital after a possible shark attack off the coast of North Carolina. I have a report of a possible shark bite. 19-year-old male, conscious and breathing at this time. Reporter: The 19-year-old Austin reed reportedly emerging from the water nearby ocean isle beach, bleeding from his foot. He said, Yo, I got bit by a shark and he's one to goof around a lot. We thought he was kidding. We looked at his foot and realized he wasn't kidding. Reporter: The harrowing incident coming just a week after 17-year-old Paige winter lost her leg in a shark attack three hours up the north Carolina coast. Is she awake and breathing? If she is, she's barely. She's in bad shape. I mean, her leg is almost gone. Reporter: Paige's father managing to punch the shark on the head five times, saving his daughter's life. While fatalities are rare, officials say shark sightings are up.
