Transcript for The hottest movies, music and television to catch up on this weekend
Yeah, that means "Binge this" and we have Hannah Cranston, host of the podcast "Too much to handle" back to handle the breakdown of the hottest movie, music and TV. Welcome. Thank you for having me. So glad to have you back. Happy to be back. Let's start with movies. A beloved movie is coming back. Tell us what we can binge to get ready. There are a lot of pet owners. Maybe you wished you could speak to your animal. I would personally be nervous. I think my dog has seen too much. Too much. But, Eva, maybe you wish you could speak to your pup or Dan to your cats. I don't want to hear what my cats have to say. I want to hear the commentary. So you're going to want to binge, of course, the 1920s classic children's book series, "Dr. Dolittle." There's also the 1967 film adaptation with Rex Harrison and, of course, the 1988 blockbuster with Eddie Murphy. It's streaming on Disney plus now. It was a staple of my childhood and if I'm being completely honest of my adulthood. And all of this gets us ready for "Dolittle," which comes out in theaters this week. Now it stars Robert Downey, Jr., but it features a whole Noah's ark of talking animals. There's a gorilla voiced by rami Malek and a duck voiced by Octavia Spencer and a polar bear voiced by John Cena. So a lot of stars in that movie. We can get ready for "Dr. Dolittle." Now to music. New music coming our way. What can we listen to? I am L.A. Born and raised but I love me some country. There's got to be other country fans in the house, right, right? I think so. Well -- Eva's big time on the country scene. Yeah. Well, if you haven't already, you're going to want to binge the first eight albums of little big town and a little genre shift here. You're going to want to binge Halsey's first two albums as well and this gets us ready for little big town's new album, "Nightfall." Now, you might have already heard a single from that album called "Overdrinking" or maybe that's just what you did last weekend, obviously not you. And it gets us ready for Halsey's new album, "Manic," which features collaborations with Alanis Morissette and bts so it's sure to get you moving or at the very least angry singing in your car but that just might be me. So good music coming our way. And now our favorite -- one of our favorite TV shows coming back. What do we need to binge from the couch this weekend? You'll want to binge the first two seasons of "Grown-ish." I'm obsessed with this show. It is so smart and funny and really captures what it's like to be a young person in today's cultural and political climate. And "Grown-ish" and "Mixed-ish" are both spinoffs of the ABC series "Black-ish" and "Grown-ish" follows their eldest daughter Zoe Johnson to college and all that comes with it. I'm talking parties, romance, breakups. I think schoolwork is in there too. Somewhere. Such a big fan. So much to get ready for. It gets us ready for the third season of "Grown-ish" which is starting on freeform this week. Awesome, so much stuff to binge, to listen to, watch from the couch this weekend, Hannah, thank you so much. Thank you. And you can get more from Hannah on her podcast, "Too much to handle" which you guys can also binge this weekend.
