is a faith Friday, and you know we love our faith Fridays around here, and I'm excited for our next guest, billboard just made him one of the top gospel artists of the decade, along with the likes of curt Franklin Marvin, Fred Hammond and he is here to talk about his new album and treat us to a special performance, and everyone please welcome, J.J. Hairston, good to see you, with that big smile and you absolutely are trying to take people to church, the new album features live performances and that was the point, right, you wanted it to feel like church. Absolutely. You know, 2020 stopped a lot of us, especially our culture, from being able to go to church, so what we wanted to do, is to take our church experience to you, so this whole album not holding back, as a form of a live experience so you can feel like you're sitting in the middle of a sanctuary. It is 12 tracks called "Not holding back" and like you said, everything's going through something the past year, 2020 was especially difficult, and it was difficult for you as well, you lost your dad, in December, actually, and we always asked our faith Friday guests, just to give people a little inspiration, going into the weekend, and I kind of want to tie it into that. What we all believe, well, especially in my house, we believe that you should learn something from everything, so rather than making an icon, or making an idol of 2020, you should try to figure out what you learned from it. Even from my dad, and the passing of my dad, what I learned is first of all, time is precious, and forgiveness is necessary. Jj, congrats on everything. It's good to see you. Sorry for the loss of your dad, our condolences for the loss of your dad, and like you said maybe something good could have for it.
