Transcript for Michael loved 'All In The Family' and 'The Jeffersons'
I loved what ABC did with bringing back "All in the family" and "The Jeffersons" for a live show. It was amazing because you're watching these shows just as they were written by Norman leer and his team back in the day and they're so relevant now, I mean, so relevant now. And they were actually able to say words on TV back then that were offensive and still are offensive that they had to bleep out now. But all these issues and the mentality of people, it's amazing. We think so much has changed until you see this and you go, hmm, not so much has changed. But I want to say the actors in this were fantastic. You were raving about them. Yeah, because everyone -- it's really a hard thing to do to remake something that's so iconic to so many people, but woody Harrelson was great, and Marisa Tomei -- I love her. Marisa Tomei crushed it. Ellie kemper was great. Jamie Foxx's George Jefferson -- Oh, I've got to watch it. And jamoxx, Kerry Washington, will Ferrell. An all-star cast. Wanda Sykes, Anthony Anderson, it was an all-star cast, but being that it's live TV, Jamie Foxx was the only one who messed up. But, the amazing thing is, being Jamie Foxx, he got a big laugh out of it at the end of the night. Let's check it out. Oh, we have it? Yeah, we got it. Ever since I was a little boy, I would always beg my mother for a little brother, but you know we were broke, so all we would -- all -- it's live. Everyone's sitting at home just thinks their TV just messed up. All we could afford was you. Well done, well done. But he -- but yeah, you noticed, you look in the back, woody Harrelson had to turn around, Marisa Tomei, everybody is laughing. It ended up being a good night. I know it brought back a lot of great memories for me. Nostalgia. Nostalgia because those are the shows -- when I was in college -- You can finish your thought. Can I finish what I was saying? I'm hanging on his every word. No, but I'm saying when I was in college it was a big deal for me because I used to watch "Quincy" and "The Jeffersons" and then I would go to bed. That was like my routine. To see that again and I will say just like college, after "The Jeffersons" I went to bed. That's right.
