Transcript for Florida Mother Survives 45 Minutes With No Pulse
A mother is lucky to be alive after doctors almost declared her dead. She had no pulse for 45 minutes after childbirth. What happened next is hard to explain. But Reena ninan has the story. Reporter: What happened to 40-year-old ruby is being called a miracle. You can't even explain it into words. It's unbelievable. Reporter: Clinically diagnose after a seemingly routine and successful c-section, herhearted stopping for 45 minutes. There was no pulse, no blood pressure. And the patient was not breathing on her own. Reporter: Doctors placed her on a ventilator, unable to breathe on her own for three and a half long hours as they tried to resuscitate her. She experienced a glimpse of the after life. I remember a spiritual being, my dad, I think. I wasn't walking, I was kind of flowing. It's peaceful. There's nothing to be afraid of. At one point it was like a force, almost. You're not going any further. This is it. And, you know, that's when I -- when I understood you're not going to stay here. You're not. This is just a little bit. You're going to go back. It's not your time. Reporter: Doctors out of options, they began calling her family in to say good-bye. But then incredibly, the blip of a heart beat. It was, indeed, something we don't see. I have never seen, myself. The whole family and -- a big majority of the medical team believe this was at least some kind of divine intervention. Reporter: Mother and 7 yeek old daughter happy and healthy and savering every new day. I'm a girl, I'm sure a lot of people deserved it for than me. But I was chosen to be here. Reporter: For "Good morning America," Reena ninan, ABC news, New York. I love how the baby girl is looking up at her like that. The doctor said, divine intervention.
