We're going to turn to the cold case gaining some heat. It involves a little girl's face you'll remember. madeleine McCann, disappeared from a resort where her family was vacationing in 2007. Her parents never gave up hope and neither did police. They've reopened the case. And lama hasan is in london this morning with late details. Lama, good morning. Reporter: Good morning to you, david. Not only has scotland yard reopened the case, with new leads and persons of interest, across five european countries. But detectives n believe that LITTLE madeleine McCann may still be alive, six years after she vanished. These are mine. Reporter: This morning, a stunning twist in the hunt for madeleine McCann, in what could be a big breakthrough in solving the mystery behind her disappearance. There's no clear, definitive PROOF THAT madeleine McCann is dead. On that basis, I believe there's a possibility that she's alived. Reporter: For the past two years, investigators have reviewed more than 30,000 documents related to the case. Now, scotland yard is launching a new investigation, after uncovering new findings and new witness evidence. We have identified 38 persons of interest. And within that, 12 who are u.K. Nationals. Reporter: They released this computer-generated image of what she would look like today. KATE AND gerry McCann were on vacation in portugal, in may 2007, when 3-year-old madeleine and their twins. The couple left their children in the hotel room while they dined with friends in a nearby restaurant. When they returned, madeleine was gone. The portuguese police closed the case when it went cold, as part of the country's criminal justice system. They cannot reopen it. And the judge is con there is enough evidence.
