Now the NFL and ray rice. His way, Janay is speaking out this morning after rice's indefinite suspension was lifted. Nots of questions about his future and the future of roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner. Ryan smith is here with the latest. Reporter: Good morning, robin. Nearly a year since ray rice set foot in an NFL game. As he attempts his comeback and the NFL tries to explain his arbitration laws Janay rice is sharing her pain. This morning, as ray rice hopes to return to the field, his wife, Janay speaking out saying, I was sick to my stomach. I just broke down in tears. In my heart I knew that our relationship wouldn't be over because I know that this is not us. Reporter: And in an interview with NBC, Janay says it's commissioner roger Goodell, not her husband, who is being less than honest. I know for a fact that he -- that ray told the honest truth that he's been telling from February. Reporter: A direct contra digs to what Goodell told CBS in September. When we met with ray rice and his representative, it was ambiguous about what happened. Reporter: Retired federal judge ruled Friday that the NFL's decision to suspend ray rice indefinitely was arbitrary. Overnight, our sister network ESPN says four teams are interested in ray rice. Two of them are not expected to take him. There's never been a question of what he can do on the field. Reporter: Could Goodell face fresh scrutiny. It's difficult to have chaeks and balances when you have a commissioner who is judge, jury, and executioner. Reporter: The league sent this memo this week to all 32 teams explaining the decision to reinstate rice. But adding no part of judge Jones' decision questions the commissioner's honesty or integrity. I think they did what they had to do for themselves. Reporter: Janay rice says it will take work to get her husband back on the field but she never considered leaving him. The league's team owners meet December 10th and plan to discuss changes for the personal conduct policy. Other legal experts were not surprised at the reinstatement. A lot of talk about the future of roger Goodell. I don't think he's at risk just yet. I think this decision is a blow to roger Goodell. But the owners have been in support of him throughout the process. They're the once in charge of hiring and firing their commissioner. As long as they're behind him, he will stay in the job.
