Test Text1 plain We're back now with one of the hottest gifts this holiday season and for some people it's also turning out to be unfortunately one of the best dangerous, hoverboards may not be as easy as they look. But, yeah, judging by these failed videos online. ABC's gio Benitez has more. Reporter: One of this year's hottest gifts leaving many in the hospital. Wipeout after wipeout. Even professional athletes like baseball player Dan uggla hitting the ground. And this U.S. Representative taking to Twitter to show off his hoverboard injury. We have seen the fires linked to hoverboards. The consumers safety commission now investigating 21 fire incidents across the country. Even tweeting this warning -- major airlines even banning the devices from flights. I didn't think I would get injured that badly. Reporter: He documented his first hoverboard ride. He falls twice. They have received dozens of reports of injuries and is expecting that number to grow. Experts urge everyone to wear safety gear before going for a spin. Get a helmet. Reporter: For "Good morning America," gio Benitez, ABC news, New York. Joining us now is the CEO and founder of the hoverboard compa company. They have some tips on how to ride these safely. What you should be wearing before you get on. Always have a helmet when you're gliding. Wear elbow and wrist guards. Some tips on what to do first, calibrations. Your glide needs to calibrated in order for it to work properly. So, how you test that is, you want to lift the wheel up and just press your hand with the foot pad if the wheel is spinning and not spinning it's calibrated. Tims on getting on safely. Not too much toe and too much heel. You want the widest stance possible. And getting off? To get off, what you do -- It looks so easy. It's not intuitive for you to step back. People step forward.
