Another thing that I won and get your opinion on there is another story that's. Being in Washington about California congresswoman. Katie hill I'm resigning after allegedly having a sexual relationship with her staffer. On the before she stepped down we know she gave that powerful speech on the house floor yesterday so let's take a listen to that. I will never shirk my responsibility for this sudden ending to my time here. But I have to say more because this is bigger than me. I am leaving now because of a double standard. I'm leaving because I no longer want to be used as a bargaining chip. And leaving because I didn't want to be paddled by papers and blogs and web sites. Used by shameless operatives for the dirty as gutter politics than I've ever seen. And the right wing media to drive clicks and expand their audience by distributing intimate photos of me. Taken without my knowledge let alone my consent for the sexual entertainment of millions. I'm leaving because of a misogynist Digg culture that gleefully consumed my naked pictures. Capitalized on my sexuality and enabled my abusive acts to continue that abuse. This time with the entire country. Watching. All right so senator those were strong words he heard there on the issue right about that double standard. I think it's really hard because everybody forget at a number. Congress people either quit or actually resigned after allegations. And some kind of sexual misconduct. Carpet then I'm think he let people like Joseph Barton from Texas. And so I think that. Where the different is that than who resigned and who doesn't reside. I'm you can they want to that was standard because these people that that they there state they stayed because they stayed I bet that pretty simple and the question has. Yep and back nothing is wrong and you can provide an epic. Investigations then there shouldn't be the problem and one of the things that I've really ought to. In politics is this idea that you can legitimize. What you're doing arm based on what other people's conduct yet. And she didn't have a very meaningful the camp of her own conduct an and I think I think that is that different than about gander at the just about. How people need to put themselves in public life. Yet and so I'm you know she was a freshman. Congresswoman. What would your advice be to her moving forward. My advice to her was that if you believe that you are legitimate if and I don't quit. I mean that was kind of the less than those of Al Franken. And if you if you don't wanna be in the fight that get out of the fight and continue to do what let down. You've done in the past then end in May be by but by that action I think that the real issue here. He is not a large. Whether she should resign being pregnant conduct an off but. But. It did this whole you know they're way too much. In social media in people's private lives and what it that would light and how can you not only he'll fight back against somebody who would engage in that kind brief bench. But also. If we have a teaching moment port. Young people in particular to be more careful on how. You huge Erie beaches and social media spackle bit that they cheeky moment in a lot of ways. For people who want. Career career later on maybe Vickie get pigeon that could have back there. Their future in their future viability of political Canada. Yes indeed. Former senator Heidi hi Campbell on the phone with us thank you so much for joining us today we appreciate that.
