Finally tonight, all of us with dogs know that sloppy welcome home can wipe away even the worst day at work. Now some of america's biggest employers including congress are letting employees bring their dogs to work, hoping to create those happy feelings all day long. Dan harris explains having a best friend by your side may also be good for business. Reporter: This is what lunch break looks like at the corporate offices of urbn, an apparel company in philadelphia. And this is what nose-to-the-grindstone time looks like inside at the desk of emily netter, who works in bridal alongside her brittany spaniel riley. That's the cutest thing I've ever seen. It's kind of nice throughout the day just to peek down and that's what I see. Riley being cute. Reporter: Urbn allows its employees to bring their dogs to work. It changes the tone of the workplace. It definitely changes the tone of the workplace. You could be having a very serious meeting and then a muppet appears. Reporter: According to at least one small scientific study, having your dog at the office can reduce stress and boost employee satisfaction. More employers are adopting dog-friendly policies -- amazon, ben and jerry's, google, even congress. There are rules. We keep them on their leash. No barking. Obviously, the outside area is for playing and pottying and all of that. Reporter: Have you ever been walking anywhere in the building in a hurry and you've stepped in dog poop? No, I've never seen dog poop inside. Reporter: Kathryn schutt brings fritz to every meeting and swears he's not distracting. I'm not sure I agree. If you have this for, like, five minutes a day, your day would be vastly improved. Yeah! Reporter: You have this all day. It definitely makes the day better all day. Reporter: An enormous employee morale program, they say. And it's totally free. Dan harris, abc news, philadelphia.
