And finally tonight, the Valentine's day challenge in the snow and ice. How do you carry a fragile flower across a river of ice? ABC's Ron Claiborne says, with creativity. Reporter: On this day, it's one of the most important jobs in America. Get 'em out there. Reporter: Delivering those Valentine's flowers. But today was trouble, with traffic snarled and businesses closed, this North Carolina florist even ground to a halt. This 24-hour period, the super bowl for florists, when many do 10 times to 20 times their Normal business, last year, 233 million roses were grown just for Valentine's day. We might be delivering a little late, but, you know, we do what we need to do. Reporter: We joined her deliveryman Javier Diaz, as he set out on foot through slush and snow, determined to deliver this bouquet. While in Georgia, amid snow and slush, one sheriff actually canceled Valentine's day in his county, citing safety concerns. I would hope that all the people who are usually on the receiving end would be understanding and would cut us guys some slack. Reporter: It's all triggered something of a Valentine's day panic. One person tweeting -- can this snow please melt now? Tomorrow is Valentine's day and it better not mess it up. Others are getting creative. Check out this alternative bouquet made of up -- well, whatever's in your house. Some people, though, just push on. Javier Diaz and his precious cargo did make it to where they had to be. Somebody loves you. Reporter: After all, what's a little snow -- okay, a lot of snow -- when it comes to Valentine's day. Ron Claiborne, ABC news, new York.
