Transcript for 'Dancing' couple speaks out after triple elimination
Just in time. Now we go to the drama in the ballroom down to the final three on "Dancing with the stars" after a bombshell triple elimination last night. First time for that. And, ginger, I'm sure you were watching. We'll talk with one of the couples in a moment, but first take a look. ?????? ??? stand by me ??? That was impressive. It was an intense night in the ballroom. ?????? and the shade was very real. Josh. This isn't the gridiron. This is the ballroom floor. You're going down. Reporter: The top six cups left it all on the dance floor. That slip, that was like a triple Axel. Reporter: With epic dance partner battles, Tonya versus Jennie, Adam versus mirai and Josh carissa Chris. Jennie getting emotional and giving it all her heart. But it wasn't enough. It was just so much fun. I wish it was a little longer, you know, but -- Chris wowing the judges. His mom a "Dancing with the stars" super fan stealing the show. I love the fact I was able to bring her on many stage. Witney's choreography allowed her to come on stage. Reporter: Not single, not double, but a shocking triple elimination. A first in the show's history. Chris and witney, Jennie and Keo, mirai and Alan, you are going home tonight. I don't feel like I deserve to go home but that's just the way it goes sometimes. We're joined by olympic figure skater mirai nagasu and her partner Alan bersten. Welcome and thank you for joining us. We know it's early for you both after a long night. Mirai, you dedicated your performance to who you call your MVP. Your mother. So what was her reaction to your performance last night? You know what, she opened up and I think it was super cute that she teared up a little bit but honestly I was just worried about remembering my steps. I had to rewatch it later to see her reaction. So, I want to ask Alan a question. Mirai has said you get nervous about presenting corpsing gras fry. How are you feeling about that last night? You know, there's a lot of expectations with this season, mirai is such a good dancer and she proved that this season. You know, I was a little nervous with the choreography because it's such an important night's wanted her to do pz and I honestly thought she did the best. I thought we did great. The choreography was incredible. You had nothing to doing nervous about. Thank you so much. Nothing at all and, mirai, we saw you bring the attitude last night. You said you practiced your shade. Do you feel like you could have done anything differently to sway the judges or to sway the votes yesterday? I had the time of my life and that was the most important part but my shade definitely wasn't "A" game. But I tried and that's what's important. Yeah, absolutely. And that's great you had such a great time and I know your dear friend, Adam Rippon, is still in it to win it. So, tell us a little bit about what you're feeling about him and his chances at this moment moving forward. You know what, I would have liked to have been part of this journey and gone to the finale but I'm team Adam all the way and going to go from team fire and spice to team just friends. Well, we know Adam is your roommate and know you're rooting for him to go all the way. It's an intense competition and glad you're joined this season and made it exciting to watch and congratulations to you both. Now go get some sleep. You deserve it. Thank you very much. You can see the "Dancing with the stars" athletes finale Monday night at 8:00, 7:00
