We turn to president trump racheting up his attacks on a democratic congresswoman. He created controversy when he urged Israel not to let in representative Rashida tlaib. Not to let her into the country. Rachel Scott is in New Jersey where the president is spending the weekend. He's doubling down on this controversy. Rachel, good morning to you. Reporter: Dan, good morning. Rashida tlaib was supposed to be on a flight to Israel. She said she is proud on her Palestinian roots, but will not compromise her values. The president is now firing back. I should be on a plane to see her. Reporter: Congresswoman Rashida tlaib emotional thinking of the reunion she won't have. Tlaib turning down her trip to Israel, turning down a conditional visit to see her grandmother. The country said she couldn't come in otherwise. I'm a grand daughter. Reporter: It was a trip president trump never wanted her to take. I think it would be a terrible thing frankly for Israel to let these two people who speak so badly about Israel come in. Reporter: In an unprecedented move the president pressured Israel to bar tlaib and congresswoman ilhan OMAR from entering. Israel following suit citing the pair's outspoken support for movements that boycott the country. Israel did leave the door open, approving tlaib to visit her grandmother in the west bank on humanitarian grounds under one rule. Do not promote a boycott. There were demands to silence me. Reporter: An Israeli spokesperson said tlaib wrote to the interior minister accepting the restrictions. He said her decision to cancel shows her hate for Israel overcomes her love for her grandmother. Here at home the political battle now turning personal. President trump going after tlaib accusing her of grand standing. Tweeting Israel was very respectful and nice to tlaib. Digging in even further he added, the only real winner here is tlaib's grandmother. She doesn't have to see her now. We're back with Rachel Scott.
