Transcript for Wildfires in California spread dangerously close to Hollywood
In California there is smoke rising over the mansions and movie studios of Hollywood from a fresh wildfire. ABC's Marci Gonzalez is on that story. Reporter: Firefighters battling a new wildfire in los Angeles. It was crazy. It just looked -- enveloped the entire side of the mountain. Reporter: The Barham fire burning more than 30 acres in the heart of Hollywood. Flames raging across the street from the Warner brothers studio. Some production crews evacuating. The fire spreading into Griffith smoke. Plumes of smoke visible for miles towering over the iconic llywood sign and downtown los Angeles. It looked frightening. Reporter: Hot spots flaring up as crews battled the flames on the ground and through the air. This as California recovers from several destructive wildfires last month. The tick and Getty fires forcing mass evacuations in the los Angeles area. The Kincade fire in sonoma county charring nearly 80,000 acres, only fully contained days ago. Wind is fortunately not a factor this morning. Fire crews expect to make significant progress containing this fire today. Eva? Marci Gonzalez for us.
