Now, to that raging wildfire in Arizona. It's threatening a popular tourist destination, putting thousands on alert for thousands of evacuations. Strong winds stoking the flames and more firefighters on the way. ABC's Ryan Owens is on the front lines there in sedona, Arizona. Good morning, Ryan. Reporter: Good morning to you, robin. As we approach this busy holiday weekend, there's a lot of smoke in the air here in sedona. The town itself is fine. But getting around for tourists is a challenge. You see the roadblock behind me, there's a lot of those. The fire, just a few miles north of here. Fierce flames move closer to homes. And overnight, more elite hot shot crews move in. Battling the blaze now. More than 3,000 could have to evacuate at a moment's notice. A little crazy. A little scary. Reporter: This fire has expanded to nearly seven miles. Exploding ten-fold in 24 hours. Deep inside these canyons. Just listen to the crackle in this timelapse video on youtube. Think about what you need to get out of your home very quickly. Reporter: About 5008 firefighters are on the front lines this morning. Including those hot shot teams that specialize in this unforgiving terrain. Firefighters from nearby prescot are here. Just last year, 19 members of its hot shot team were killed in Arizona's deadliest ever wildfire. There are several helicopters and air tankers leading the aerial assault. But late wednes grounded because of those howling winds. Our livelihood's up there. Reporter: This couple runs a resort here. They play the planes can fly again to save this long holiday weekend, in one of America's most beautiful tourist destinations. Just look at that smoke rising above the iconic red rocks of sedona. It is certainly beautiful here. Now, a lot of the firefighters and equipment came directly here from those wildfires in San Diego. As soon as they got out of -- that under control, they hit the road to come here. It's just going to be that kind of fire season, robin. Unfortunately so, Ryan. Thank you so much.
