Transcript for Dierks Bently Talks New Album, New Baby
We're back with Dierks Bentley for our "Gma" winter concert series. You saw him coach Ezra in our "Gma do-over." Got a brand-new album out "Riser" and love your definition of riser. Just think about people who have been through a lot of struggles and hard times and finally a way to pick themselves up and be that person that's stronger than ever. It's a great song. I think it's a great title to the record. You've been going through this -- this all came to gestation after your father died and about to have a baby. I started making my record. My dad was alive. Had two kids then the process of making it my dad passed away and my wife got pregnant and my son was born in the process so a real kind of rising moment over the last two years capturing the grief and gratitude throughout that process. You have a lot to surf on. Three little kids under 5. Yeah. It's busy at my house it's a full schedule on the road and off. Let me explain the title "I hold on" for dear life. Holding on every second. The truck we drove from Phoenix to Nashville to start this dream and about this guitar which I've had forever, worn out, beat up. Autographs from George strait and George Jones and hold on to things that have meaning to me. I hold on to life pretty hard right now. Thank you, man. Let's hear it.
