So we'll catch up with those conjoined twins born in Texas last year both back home now reunited after some miracle surgery. ABC's juju Chang has their story of hope and faith. Reporter: A child's smile, a reminder to be thankful for the good in the world. I feel really good. You know, it's been a long year. Reporter: And a sign of progress for knatalye and adelines who sisterhood started closer than most. A little over a year ago the Mata's twins were born conjoined from the rib cage down to their pelvis with internal organs fused together. I want to give them a shot at a Normal life. Reporter: At 10 months old a team of 12 surgeons at Texas children's hospital worked to separate the girls during a grueling 26-hour operation. There's a fair amount of bleeding with dividing the liver. During that bleeding process, Adeline's heart wasn't punching very well. Reporter: When the family is called back for another worrisome face-to-face meeting. Dr. O. Has to hurry up. Reporter: This time it's the news they've been waiting for. So far so good. They're separated. Hey. We now have -- told you. I told you. I told you. Oh. Yay. Reporter: Little knatalye, the stronger of the two leaves the hospital in may. Adeline following suit in June. Hi, gorgeous. Reporter: And now the family of five is thankful to be out of the hospital and reunited again under the same roof. Dada. Reporter: Nurses still checking in on the girls who are doing great. Even sleeping through the night. I can't get over it. It's just been an amazing feeling. So grateful to god for letting us keep them and making them so strong and so happy and they're just amazing little girls. Reporter: Two sisters separated now ready to take on the world together. They're everywhere. Miracles are just -- don't give up because you might not see one coming but it'll hit you right in the face.
